Life Is Like a Banana (Poem)
Life Is Like a Banana
Human life is like a banana,
Growing in a quiet bunch.
The bunch is society,
Each hand a family.
In every hand, the fruits rest close,
Obedient, side by side.
So a human lives within a family,
Learning love, limits, and care.
Time moves on.
The green turns yellow.
The fruit ripens—
Just as a human grows old.
For a while, we are needed,
Tasted by the world,
Used by time,
Held for what we can give.
Then one day,
Only the peel remains.
Desires fade,
Dreams fall silent,
Purpose slowly lets go.
At the end,
We too become like the peel—
Still, empty, left behind.
As goats and cows wait
For the thrown-away skin,
The earth waits for us—
Soil, worms, and silence,
Patient and ready.
Life returns to where it began.
Nothing is wasted.
Nothing is lost.
