Pillars of Trust (Poem)
Pillars of Trust
“I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.”
— Nietzsche

Life is built on trust,
quiet, steady, invisible—
the pillars beneath every step we take.
In the warmth of a mother’s arms,
in the steady glance of a father,
in the laughter of a brother,
in the love of a spouse,
in the bond of friends—
trust is the thread that holds us all together.
When trust wavers,
even the strongest hearts falter,
the world shakes beneath our feet,
and the light seems to dim.
But when trust stands firm,
it lifts us through storms,
binds hearts across miles,
heals the deepest wounds,
and turns houses into homes,
moments into memories,
and life into something sacred.
Because life is nothing
without trust—
it is the quiet heartbeat
that carries us forward,
again and again,
through love and loss,
through joy and sorrow,
through every human hand we hold.
